ANNEXATION INFORMATION

Property within the District boundaries pay a property tax rate of 0.000475 for District Operations and Debt Service. At a Public Hearing held on October 17, 2013 Trustees heard input from the public regarding the proposed annual fee increase for those properties outside the District Boundaries but currently connected to and using the District's water system. After the public hearing and during the regularly scheduled District Trustee Meeting, the Trustees voted to double the annual use fee for those properties that are using Benchland Water, but are not in the District Boundaries (not paying Benchland Tax). Beginning in 2014 and thereafter, annual billing for these properties reflect the increase.    At this time property owners can pay the new fee, request service be removed or annex into the District boundaries. Information packets can be sent to you by mail or picked up in person at the District Office.

The information packet is now available on the District website. Please click on the following link to view the Annexation information.

PRECAUTIONS

THE IRRIGATION WATER IS NOT TREATED FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION

Great care must be taken as follows:

  1. Never cross connect with culinary water lines.
  2. Paint all irrigation taps, valves, outlets, etc., "RED" as a warning that they are not for human consumption.

Caution should be exercised when operating individual service lines.

Irrigation water is delivered with high pressure, necessitating proper installation with quality valves, fittings, pipe or hose.

Faulty installation or the use of substandard material could cause leaks and subsequent property damage.
