Benchland Water District continues to improve and maintain the irrigation system to provide reliable secondary water service.
Current projects include replacement of vulnerable sections of original main distribution lines, cathodic protection on metal distribution lines, projects to provide cleaner water to customers, and continued implementation of the District GIS program.
In 2022, the Utah State Legislature passed House Bill 242, requiring water meters on all secondary water connections throughout the state by January 1, 2030.
As part of this larger regional effort, Benchland Water District will be installing secondary water meters throughout the service area. The new meters support water conservation, accountability, and long-term water supply planning.
No upfront cost: There is no upfront cost to customers for meter installation. The District is using smart grants and loan proceeds to help fund the project.
Customers are expected to manage water efficiently and be responsible for their usage. The District encourages users to use the first year of metering to improve irrigation practices and make adjustments to how and when they water.
For questions about the metering project or construction, please call or text (385) 274-6046 or email info@benchlandwater.com.
