Annual Billing Notice

Annual billings are sent out the first week of February. To receive your statement by email, please visit the Contact Us page and submit your request.

Annexation Information

Properties within Benchland Water District boundaries pay a property tax rate for District operations and debt service. Properties outside District boundaries that are connected to and using the District’s water system are charged double the annual use fee because they do not pay Benchland Water District taxes.

Property owners may pay the adjusted fee, request service removal, or apply to annex into the District boundaries. Information packets are available by mail, in person at the District Office, or through the links below.

Important: Irrigation water is not an unlimited resource. Service may be terminated for users who willfully waste water.

Double Connections

  • Single service connections are installed for land under one ownership.
  • Service to adjacent property owned by someone else is not allowed.
  • Violations may result in termination of service by the District.

Irrigation Season: Important Dates

Date Reminder
March 1 Water use billings become past due. Pay before this date to avoid delinquent charges.
April 1 Turn your irrigation system off. The District begins flushing and charging mainlines.
April 15 District lines are charged and service is available to users. A $25 late charge may apply to unpaid accounts.
October 15 In a good water year, the service season closes and system draining begins. Earlier draining may occur during drought years.
October 25 Open your system and make sure it is fully drained for winter.

Customer Responsibility

Benchland Water District provides pressurized irrigation water to users within District boundaries. Repairs, new service installations, and system maintenance may occasionally cause temporary service interruptions.

The District delivers irrigation water to the property user. Once water reaches the point of delivery, the management and service requirements become the responsibility of the user.

Do not use the District service valve. The valve installed between the curb and sidewalk, or at the property’s edge, is for District use only. Customers must control their irrigation system beyond the District valve. For questions, call (801) 451-2105.

Payment for Service

Prompt payment of your annual service charge is required to maintain water service. Please include your account number with your payment to ensure proper credit.

Online credit card payments are available through the Billing Information page. Only payment in full will be accepted.

Non-payment of the annual use charge or one-time contract charge may result in termination of service.

Water Conservation

Drought conditions may limit the irrigation water supply. Practicing conservation helps extend the availability of water throughout the irrigation season.

During drought conditions, please watch for notices regarding use restrictions or service limitations.

Rebates

Customers living within District boundaries may qualify for a rebate on irrigation controllers or approved water conservation products while funds are available.

For qualifying products, visit Weber Basin Conservation.
